“Obiettivo Dakar” is dedicated to the Paris-Dakar and the people who shaped the myth of the first African editions. The book traces the routes and experiences of the race created by Thierry Sabine using the reports of eight participants.

Content

The focus is on the difficulties, the beauty and the special atmosphere of the early Dakar. The stories also take up the motorcycles, colors, sponsors and graphic designs that are firmly associated with this era.

One of the protagonists represented in the book is Fabio Marcaccini from Unit Garage. His experiences at the Dakar and later rallies are among the influences from which various Unit Garage ideas emerged.
