The VERTEX GP Racer Choice forged piston is designed for the KTM 250 EXC-F Factory Edition, built in 2015. As a forged aluminum piston with racing compression, it combines a competition-tuned design with targeted details on the piston crown, piston pins and piston rings.

Function and construction

The shape of the piston crown supports an optimized flame front and is designed for the maximum permissible compression ratio. Reinforcements stiffen the piston structure and reduce piston crown deformation under full load. The surface treatment serves to reduce friction.

• Short piston pin with chamfer and DLC coating (Diamond Like Carbon)
• Circlip with external nose to prevent twisting at high speeds
• Extra-thin GNH piston ring made of gas nitrided steel for increased wear resistance
