The MALOSSI aluminum cylinder with 63 mm bore and 14 mm piston pin is designed for the Piaggio Liberty 125 IE iGet 3 V ABS E 4 (MA 61) built in 2019-2020. The 4-stroke cylinder kit features a 58.6 mm stroke, 182.67 cc displacement and a compression ratio of 11.15:1.

The cylinder liner has a silicon carbide coating in electroplated nickel form and crossed smoothing with two diamond passes. Production takes place on numerically controlled machine tools. Cylinder and piston are matched to each other with a tolerance of 0.05 mm. Revised heat exchange surfaces complement the technical design.

Pistons and piston rings

The ultra-compact three-ring piston is made of a special aluminum alloy with a high silicon content and low thermal expansion. The sliding surfaces have a tin coating. The weight-reduced and reinforced piston is numerically machined. The ring set includes a nitrided and chrome-plated I-compression ring, a special cast ring and a three-part wiper ring made of special chrome-plated steel alloy.
